Neil
No, I’m alright. My neck is a bit stiff but ok. When people say pain in the neck, it means something or someone is annoying, actually very annoying for a long time.

Helen
原來你說脖子疼，其實是一個比喻，意思是令人心煩，讓人討厭的事情或人。和這種公司打交道特別讓人心煩。你可真說對了，我真的是被這些人給氣死了。

Well, here are a few more examples of how this expression can be used.
